Orissa eves blow away Delhi Hockey

Cuttack, April 27: Hockey Orissa spanked Delhi Hockey 8-0 in a pool match of the fifth Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Women) ‘A’ Division at Saifai (Uttar Pradesh) Monday. For the Orissa eves, Biragini Ekka scored a hattrick, Majhi Nilprojita scored a brace while Jira Ekka, Ambika Toppo and Sarojini Ekka got a goal apiece.
Cricket tournament
The Sumit Bose Memorial under-16 cricket which will be organised by the Biswabharati Cricket Club will commence April 28 at the SCB Medical College Ground here. Eleven teams from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and one team from Kolkata will be taking part in the event. The champions will receive a cash award of Rs 15,000 and the runner’s up Rs 10,000. The tournament will be inaugurated by Sanghamitra Bose, wife of late Sumit Bose.
Participating teams: Biswabharati Cricket Club, Pragati Sporting Club, Mukteswar Cricket Club, Union Sporting Club, Saheed Sporting Club, Prasant Cricket Academy, Rameswar Sporting, Jagruti Cricket club, Paramount Cricket Club, Juvenile Cricket Club, Rising Students and Tapan Memorial Cricket Club (Kolkata).
Inter-hostel football
Keonjhar, Bolangir, Sambalpur and Combined-B all registered victories in their respective matches of the Inter-hostel football tournament at the Satyabrata Stadium here Monday. Sambalpur thrashed Combined-D 4-0 while Bolangir and Combined-B defeated Nayagarh and Combined-C by an identical margin of 1-0 respectively. Combined-Q fought till the last minute but unfortunately lost to Keonjhar
by 1-2.
Meanwhile, in other matches, Phulbani defeated Balasore by 2-1 goals while Combined-A and Baripada failed to break the deadlock.
Tulsipur in semis
Tulsipur High school beat Ravenshaw Collegiate School 1-0 to enter the semifinal of the Debabrata Kar Memorial inter-school football tournament. In an exciting match played Monday at the BOSE
