Bhubaneswar, May 31:  Hockey Orissa beat Hockey Haryana 5-3 in the third-fourth playoff game to finish third in the Vth National Sub-Junior (Division-A) Hockey Championships at Ranchi, Sunday.

After the semifinal debacle, Orissa players revived their game and gave a stiff challenge to the opposition. After 31 minutes of deadlock, Asim Kanchan Barla opened the account for Orissa and the team maintained the 1-0 lead till the breather.

The second half witnessed hockey at its aggressive best. Elima Minz doubled the lead in the 40^th minute. Asim kanchan Barla (42) and Priyanka Kujur (56^th) struck in quiet succession to increase Orissa’s lead to 4-0. Then Haryana came back strongly by scoring in the 52^nd and 56^th minutes respectively. But Priyanka Ekka of Orissa struck in the 64^th minute virtually to seal the fate of the match. Haryana gave another goal, but that was only to reduce the margin.
