Bhubaneswar: In order to promote public awareness about air quality and environmental parameters, an Air Quality Digital Display was inaugurated at the Regional Science Centre Wednesday.
The display was set up by the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) as part of celebrations marking the 43rd Foundation Day of the OSPCB and the 38th anniversary of the RSC, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums.
OSPCB member secretary Manoj V Nair inaugurated the facility.
The digital display provides real-time information on key air-quality indicators, including the Air Quality Index (AQI), PM2.5 and PM10, along with weather parameters such as wind velocity and temperature.
The facility is aimed at providing visitors, particularly students and young learners, with an accessible understanding of air pollution, particulate matter and the relationship between environmental conditions and everyday life. Speaking on the occasion, RSC head Kapil Jain said, “The launch of the Air Quality Display System marked an important step towards strengthening public awareness and scientific understanding of air quality and the environment among visitors.”
