Cuttack, Dec 7: The second Orissa Teachers’ Eligibility Test (OTET), conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), concluded across the state Sunday.

A total of 93,952 candidates appeared for the test at in 207 centres across the state, according to sources.

The test was held in two sittings. The first sitting was from 10 am to 12.30 pm while the second sitting was held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. As many as 50,634 candidates appeared for Paper I in the first sitting, 43,318 candidates appeared for Paper II in the second sitting.

Meanwhile, BSE president DP Nanda Saturday had clarified that the news of leak of question papers of OTET is a rumour and the test will be held according to schedule in the state.

The question papers are safe at eight centers in Gajapati district, he said. “We spoke to the administration of Gajapati and found out the seized papers are not question sets but answer papers. As there will be four sets of question booklets in the test, the genuineness of answer papers are doubtful,” he said.

Earlier, Gajapati district superintendent of police (SP) had told mediapersons that four persons were detained on charges of selling OTET question papers in Tatipiti village under Gurandi police station limits.
