Over 1cr to get Subhadra aid August 28

Bhubaneswar: More than 1.03 crore eligible beneficiaries of the Subhadra scheme will receive the fifth instalment of financial assistance August 28, coinciding with Rakhi Purnima, with over Rs 5,160 crore to be transferred directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The instalment will be disbursed at a special programme in Nayagada district, with preparations for the exercise reviewed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida at the Women and Child Development department conference hall here Friday.

According to the department, a total of 1,03,26,162 eligible beneficiaries have been identified to receive the fifth instalment. The funds will be credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the DBT mechanism. During the review meeting, Parida took stock of arrangements related to beneficiary identification, DBT processing, banking facilities and other logistical preparations for the large-scale disbursement.

Officials of the W&CD department, the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and representatives of banks attended the meeting. Parida directed officials and banking representatives to complete the DBT process within the stipulated timeline and strengthen banking arrangements to ensure that beneficiaries do not face difficulties in receiving the assistance. The meeting also emphasised coordination among the departments, OCAC and participating banks to ensure the smooth and timely disbursement of the fifth instalment.
