Parents to sit on indefinite fast as police fail to trace son’s murderers 

Muniguda:  A year has elapsed since the only son of Subhendu Kumar Das of this locality in Rayagada district was kidnapped and murdered. But the police are still groping in the dark and have failed to find the culprits responsible for the heinous crime.

To protest against police inaction and to demand a high-level inquiry, Subhendu and his wife have decided to sit on an indefinite fast in front of the Muniguda police station. “Only we know the agony we are going through since the death of our son. The police are yet to arrest the criminals. We have decided to sit on an indefinite fast in front of the police station from the first week of February,” Subhendu informed.

He has also intimated Muniguda IIC, BissamCuttack SDPO, SP Rayagada, Collector Rayagada, the DG and IG of police as well as the Chief Minister regarding his plans.

Aaditya (17), son of Subhendu had gone missing January 5, 2017 evening. Subhendu had filed a missing report at Muniguda police station January 6 after failing to trace him. January 24, a contractor informed Subhendu that the body of his son was lying in a stone quarry near Badagatiguda village under BissamCuttack block. Subsequently, Subhendu registered a case at BissamCuttack police station January 25 alleging that his son had been kidnapped and murdered. But till date the culprits are yet to be traced.
