Part of approach road caves in, NHAI denies threat

Aradi: Following heavy rains over last three days, a part of an approach road to Kayangola embankment under Chandbali block in Bhadrak caved in Saturday.

People of Bodak have drawn attention of officials who were tasked to look after maintenance of NH-20. The place where earth has sunk is 100 metre away from a river.

However, Subhasmita Pani, a junior engineer of the NH-20, said there will be no problem for people or vehicles even though a chunk of earth from embankment has sunk.

Four months ago, a proposal was sent to the NHAI (New Delhi) for stone-packing of two sides of the NH-20.

In a couple of months, a tender will be floated for the work. Locals demanded immediate repair of the place.
