Petrol pump owner looted of Rs 3.32 lakh at gunpoint

Jajpur: In a broad daylight robbery, unidentified masked miscreants looted Rs 3.32 lakh from a petrol pump owner at gunpoint, just 50 metres away from Danagadi police outpost in Jajpur district yesterday.

Even as the police sealed all major checkpoints and tried to nab the miscreants, but in vain. A case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the petrol pump owner Rajan Kumar Sahu (45) of Nihalprasad village in Dhenkanal district and a manhunt was launched to nab the miscreants.

According to sources, Rajan owns the Geeta petrol pump near Danagadi on Duburi-Jajpur road. He had come to deposit the money in the State Bank of India.

While Rajan was on his way to deposit the cash at State Bank of India (SBI) near Military Chhak, three miscreants came on a bike and held Rajan at a gun-point.

Later, they snatched the bag containing the cash and fled the spot.
