Phulbani: Phulbani former MLA Debendra Kanhar was booked for allegedly assaulting a woman and her daughter at Gaudapada village in Kandhamal district Monday night.
As per the complaint lodged by the victims, Kanhar barged into their house and asked the girl to marry him. The girl’s mother opposed it following which Kanhar thrashed both of them.
The two reportedly sustained minor injuries. A case has been registered under sections 294, 341,323, 354 and 506 of IPC with the Sadar police.
