Phulbani remains coldest at 7° Celsius

Bhubaneswar: Cold conditions intensified in the state Friday with the temperature plummeting to 7° Celsius in Phulbani, making it the coldest place in the state.
Similarly, the tourist destination in Kandhamal district, recorded further dip in temperature to 8.5° Celsius from 9° Celsius measured Thursday, the Meteorological Centre here said.
The state capital recorded a minimum temperature of 13° Celsius, while in Cuttack the minimum temperature was 12.4° Celsius. The mercury dropped to 10° Celsius in Angul, while it was 10.4° Celsiuse in Keonjhar, 11° Celsius in Bhawanipatna, 11.2° Celsius in Sambalpur, 12.1° Celsius in Balasore and 12.6° Celsius in Koraput, it said.
While the temperature has started falling in many places, it is likely to drop further across the state, said Meteorological Centre director H R Biswas.
The temperature is likely to remain 2 to 3° Celsius below normal in most parts of the state over the next few days, he said.
