Cuttack: A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in the Orissa High Court Tuesday seeking a probe into the alleged gang rape of a minor girl in Koraput by the director general of police (DGP). Petitioner Surya Narayan Behera, joint secretary of Bharat Vikash Parishad, has made Chief Secretary, state Home Secretary, DGP, Koraput SP, Koraput DIG, Koraput CDMO, Sp Crime Branch, Koraput CDMO, DIG BSF and DG BSF as parties to the case. The petitioner informed the court that the police inaction in nabbing the culprits have angered the public. There has been an inordinate delay by the police in unearthing the fact, said the petitioner, adding, the DGP should investigate the matter.
