Pinaki declares assets over Rs 100 crore

Puri: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) nominee for Puri Lok Sabha constituency Pinaki Mishra is a man of crores as per the affidavit submitted by him while filing the nomination papers for the 2019 General elections.

As per the affidavit, Mishra has movable assets worth Rs 87, 15, 55, 563 while the value of his immovable assets have been pegged at Rs 19, 36, 25, 100.

Mishra’s spouse has movable assets worth Rs 2, 71, 54, 988 and immoveable assets worth Rs 8, 23, 65, 693, said the affidavit.

However, certain discrepancies have been found with regard to assets in the affidavit submitted by Congress candidate for Puri LS seat Satya Prakash Nayak. At one place it has been mentioned that Nayak has movable assets worth Rs 95, 64, 742 while in another place the movable assets have been valued at Rs 8, 70, 600. However, Nayak does not have any immovable asset in his name.

According to Nayak’s affidavit, he has borrowed Rs 1, 38, 069 from bank. Altogether four criminal cases, filed against Nayak, are sub-judice now, said the affidavit.

In his affidavit, BJD nominee for Puri Assembly segment Maheswar Mohanty has declared that he has movable assets worth Rs 75, 05, 030 and immovable assets worth 1, 02, 00, 000. It has been mentioned that Mohanty’s spouse has movable assets worth Rs 77, 39, 341 and immovable assets worth Rs 20, 00, 000.

Mohanty’s educational qualification has been declared as MA and LLB while the affidavit claimed that the BJD nominee did not have any criminal cases against him.

In his affidavit, BJD candidate for Pipli Assembly constituency Pradeep Maharathy claimed that he has movable assets worth Rs 85, 76, 388 and immovable assets worth Rs 3, 48, 24, 300. As per the affidavit, Maharathy’s spouse has movable assets worth Rs 1, 01, 03, 824 while she owns immovable assets worth Rs 84, 39, 314. Altogether five criminal cases have been filed against Maharathy, said the affidavit.

BJD pick for Satyabadi Assembly segment Umakanta Samantray has declared that he has movable assets worth Rs 84, 39, 314 and immovable assets worth Rs 2, 00, 000. According to the affidavit, Samantray’s spouse owns movable assets to the tune of Rs 80, 54, 543 and immovable properties worth Rs 16, 20, 400. Two criminal cases have been filed against Samantray, said the affidavit.

In his affidavit, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Brahmagiri Assembly segment Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mahapatra has claimed that he has movable assets worth Rs 30, 86, 349 and immovable assets worth Rs 48, 30, 800. Lalitendu’s spouse owns movable assets to the tune of Rs 25, 52, 639 while she does not have any immovable asset in his name, said the affidavit.

Lalitendu’s affidavit claimed that he has borrowed Rs 10, 73, 165 from banks while his spouse has availed loan worth Rs 28, 552 from bank.

Two criminal cases have been filed against Lalitendu, said the affidavit.

BJD nominee for Nimapara Assembly segment Samir Ranjan Dash has declared that he owns movable assets worth Rs 74, 60, 697 and immovable assets worth Rs 29, 33, 500.

Dash’s spouse has movable assets worth Rs 42, 95, 855 and she does not have any immovable asset in her name. Two criminal cases have been filed against Dash, claimed the affidavit.
