PLFI men open 10 rounds of fire at vehicle, 2 critical

Kuanrmunda: Two persons were left battling for life after armed PLFI members opened 10 rounds of fire on a Scorpio near Sunajhor under Raiboga police limits on Jharkhand-Odisha border. They injured were identified as Sameer Lugun-the driver and Heera Badaik.

Sameer sustained a bullet on his chest while a bullet struck Heera’s head. Other two-Mohan Majhi and Subash Majhi who were also inside the vehicle luckily survived without injuries.

During probe, it was learnt that PLFI area commander Bijay Dang and his aides were behind the attack. The police then sealed all check posts to arrest the miscreants. A special team led by Raiboga IIC Bijay Singh and SDPO Prakash Kumar Patra conducted raids in the area to nab the accused.

The four persons have been identified as aides of Madan Turi, a former PLFI member and friend of PLFI area commander Bijay. According to sources, Bijay and Madan were friends and PLFI members. However, Madan had recently left the outfit and worked as a police informer. So, Bijay hatched a plan to eliminate him.

However, he came to know about Madan’s four aides who were on their way to Raiboga on the Scorpio. So, he attacked with his aides and opened fire at them, police said. However, Sameer braved the bullets and drove the vehicle straight to a local police station from where they were rescued by the police.
