Plus III girl kidnapped, killed in Balasore

Balasore: In a shocking incident, police recovered the blood-soaked body of a young girl, with her throat slit from a bamboo bush near Naraharipur village under Sadar police limits in this district, Friday noon.

Reportedly, the girl has been identified as Supriya Behera (20), a Plus III Arts student of Remuna College and a resident of Bangara village.

Her body was spotted by locals near a bamboo bush in the vicinity of Naraharipur area and alerted the cops. On intimation, cops reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem.

The girl’s father had lodged a complaint at Remuna Police Station earlier today alleging that she had been kidnapped by a youth of same village, stated reports.

As per the complaint, Supriya went to attend her tuition classes Thursday afternoon but did not return home as she was allegedly abducted by a youth of the village.

During the inquiry, some locals also claimed that Supriya was last seen with one Sujan Puthan (27) of Remuna. Further probe into the matter is currently underway to ascertain the exact reason behind her death, police said.
