Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ encourages the country’s youth to contribute towards building a developed India.
After listening to the programme, Majhi said the PM has been bringing the achievements and contributions of people, particularly young talents who overcome challenges to succeed, to the national platform through the programme.
Our youth, who achieved success in various fields after facing many challenges, often do not come to the limelight at the national level. PM Modi is presenting their dedicated efforts, sacrifices and success before the people of our country, which is creating a new enthusiasm and inspiration for the entire society, he said.
Majhi said active participation and proper guidance of young people were essential for building a self-reliant India.
Every work, speech and thought of the PM is dedicated only to nation-building. By recognising and honouring young talents, he is encouraging them to become partners in building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed nation), he said.
The CM said Odisha had received due recognition in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, with Modi highlighting efforts from the state in areas such as history, environment and art.
In Sunday’s episode, Modi spoke about the work of Maithili Bhue of Dhodrokusum village in Debrigarh region of Odisha, who has been working for forest conservation through eco-tourism.
Modi said Maithili had earlier visited the forest almost daily to collect firewood, Mahua flowers, Kendu leaves, bamboo shoots and other forest produce. Her association with Debrigarh Eco-Tourism later changed her relationship with the forest, turning conservation into a means of livelihood.
Friends, this transformation in Maithili ji’s life inspired other women as well. Today, more than 60 women are actively involved in forest conservation. Some have taken up the responsibility of protecting wildlife, others are engaged in developing grasslands, and some are contributing to eco-tourism activities, the PM said.
Maithili-ji and these sisters from Debrigarh have demonstrated that it is possible to protect nature while also achieving prosperity in life, he added.
Majhi said Maithili’s initiative had not only enabled her to adopt eco-tourism as a livelihood but also helped other women become self-reliant by involving them in forest and wildlife conservation.
In the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, PM Modi has honoured the dedication and resolve of our women power at the national level, and for this, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to him, he said.
