Ganjam: A poacher who was absconding after attempting to poach wild animals was arrested by forest officials and forwarded to court Tuesday, informed Buguda DFO Prashant Kumar Sahu.
The accused was identified as Mangulu Panda of Kadapada village in Buguda forest range.
According to sources, Mangulu had laid trap with electric wires to poach wild animals. While unhooking the trap Saturday morning, alert forest personnel chased him. However, he managed to escape from the spot.
Acting on a tip-off about his presence in the village, forest officials nabbed the accused from his house.
