Police Commissioner felicitates Pratyasha

Bhubaneswar: Orissa’s swimming sensation Pratyasha Ray was felicitated by Police Commissioner Yogesh B Khurania at the Police Commissionerate premises here, Wednesday.
Pratyasha had secured five medals including four golds and a silver at the recently-concluded South Asian Aquatic Championships in Colombo, October 18-23.
Emphatic victories
Orissa registered thumping wins over their opponents West Bengal and Jharkhand respectively in their matches of the Vth East Zone cricket tournament for the visually-
impaired at the Armoury Ground in Jamshedpur, Wednesday.
In the first match, Orissa scored 201 for three in 15 overs riding on a brilliant unbeaten century by Sukhram Majhi (124 n o). In reply, West Bengal were bowled out for 89 only sealing Orissa’s victory by 112 runs.
In the second game, Orissa defeated Jharkhand by six wickets. Opting to bat first, Jharkhand scored 69 for seven in their stipulated 12 overs. In reply, Orissa completed the chase in 7.5 overs with six wickets in hand.
Ajit appointed as coach
Ajit Mishra of Orissa has been appointed as the coach of the Indian team which will participate at the Special Olympics cricket tournament in Dhaka, November 3-7. The team left Wednesday morning for Dhaka, by a special bus from Kolkata. Prabhat Baral of Nimapada is the only Orissa player to be a part of the Indian team for the tournament.
FAO-XI triumph
FAO-XI eked out a narrow 1-0 win over Tata Football Academy in an exhibition match at Sukinda, Wednesday. Rajak Nag scored the only goal of the match to help FAO XI win.
