Dacoit gang busted in Choudwar, 11 held

Jharsuguda: Police Friday claimed to have foiled a robbery attempt and arrested three miscreants at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district while four others escaped.

The accused have been identified as Guddu Singh, Shyam Sahis and Purna Sagar.

According to the police, the accused were hatching a plan near Hiltop area in the town for robbery.

Acting on a tip-off, Brajarajnagar police spotted around seven persons sitting at an open field near Hiltop Colony.

Seeing the police, the criminals fired two rounds of bullets at the cops. That said, three of them were nabbed by the police while four escaped from the spot, said SDPO Nrupa Charan Dansena.

The police seized one pistol, one live bullet and one empty shell of the bullets from their possession.

The three arrested persons confessed that they were planning for a dacoity. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant Sections of the IPC.

Notably, Turumunga police arrested six members of an interstate dacoity gang at Patna block in Keonjhar district Tuesday. They were apprehended while they were hatching a plan of dacoity in Keonjhar town.
