New Delhi, Jan 25: Reacting sharply on promises made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi to farmers in Odisha, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan called Gandhi a ‘big liar’ and said he does not have idea about the plight of farmers.
Talking to media here, Pradhan said, “Rahul Gandhi is big liar. They had promised loan waivers in Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan but what they did is for everyone to know. There was news that only Rs 13 loan waiver was given to farmers in Madhya Pradesh. This is a cruel joke on the farmers. He does not have any idea of farmers’ plight. He is a lie producing battery.”
Notably, Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a gathering in Bhubaneswar, promised to waive farmers’ loan in just 10 days if the Congress party comes into power in the state.
