Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police in collaboration with the Government Railway Police (GRP) will soon launch pre-paid auto services at the railway station here, sources told Orissa POST. “The pre-paid auto service is in its final stages before the launch. In the beginning, the service will only be available at a few areas in the city,” he added. “It is expected that the pre-paid auto cab facility would remove the unsavory incidents of haggling over fares with auto-rickshaw drivers,” said a GRP official. Police sources said preference will be given to owner-driven vehicles for enlistment in the service. The police have identified several destinations for this service with fixed fare ranging from `30 to `150. The decision followed after the Commissionerate Police received an encouraging feedback for the pre-paid auto service at railway station here and Badambadi bus terminal in Cuttack. PNN
