The police’s responsibility is to make people feel safe. However, it is often observed that police personnel and officers do not behave appropriately towards ordinary people. At times, complainants are abused and beaten up. One such video has now surfaced from a Mumbai police station. In the viral clip, Durga Kharde, Lady Police Inspector of VP Road Police Station, can be seen threatening to kill a complainant while hurling filthy abuses. The officer even attempts to strike the complainant, telling her to speak softly, even as she herself shouts and continues using abusive language.
The shocking behaviour of this female officer has left people outraged on social media.

According to reports, September 20, 2025, a young man named Yash Karande and his friend went to the police station to lodge a complaint related to financial fraud. It is alleged that instead of registering the complaint, the female sub-inspector abused them, saying, “You bast*rd, I’ll kill you.” She then furiously removed her badge and threw it at the complainant.
The video shows the officer repeatedly yelling and cursing as other policemen attempt to intervene, but her rage does not subside. During the heated exchange, she repeatedly lunges toward the complainant, trying to strike her.
It is worth noting that many ordinary people are already afraid of approaching a police station. Such incidents further damage the police’s image and discourage people from seeking help even when they face serious issues. Social media users are demanding strict action against the female police officer, urging the government to take measures to change the police’s behaviour and ensure they treat citizens with dignity.
