Puri administration launches week-long ‘Mo Dham, Mo Garba’ cleanliness drive Sunday

Puri:  In a bid to make the Puri a clean district the district administration launched Sunday the Mo Dham Mo Garba (My Dham, My Pride) programme. It is a week-long cleanliness drive to be implemented in various parts of the district.

Puri district Collector Balwant Singh held a meeting in this regard at DRDA office with the heads of government offices, principals of, school and colleges in the district. He requested them to keep their respective premises clean.

The drive was launched from the Jagatguru Sankaracharya mutt. The district administration has requested all citizens of the district to keep different colour dustbins for wet and dry garbage. They have been also asked to drop the garbage on to the Swachh Sabari vehicle. All the citizens of the district will take a vow November 6 and 7 to make the No. 1 in the 2021 Swachh survey.

Singh said that the signature campaign will be launched at various parts of the sea beach, November 8. The district administration plans mass mobilization of people during the week-long special drive. Singh appealed to people of all walks of life to take a pledge to keep their homes, offices and surroundings clean during the campaign.

Singh said Puri, one of the four holy dhams in India, will attract more tourists, if it looks clean. Officials said ‘my dham, my pride’, programme is aimed at promoting the Odisha government’s ambitious Jagannath heritage corridor project.
