Puri: With the Srimandir again opening for devotees from Monday, it is expected that crowds will increase. To provide a hassle-free darshan for the devotees, the Puri district police have gone high-tech. They have sought suggestions from the visitors as to how they can improve and facilitate viewing of the deities easily.
Devotees can offer their suggestions by scanning a QR code and submitting their forms online through their smartphones. The QR codes are available at designated parking lots and some other places. Also the devotees can fill up a suggestion form physically and drop it in a reply box which has been placed near the North Gate of the 12th century shrine,

Darshan of the deities was opened for all from 7.00am Monday morning and special arrangements for effective crowd management have been made so that devotees can pay their obeisance smoothly, a police official stated.
Officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) are also keeping a strict watch so that devotees adhere to Covid-19 protocols while visiting the temple. The devotees are being allowed to enter through Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) and exit through ‘Uttara Dwara’.
Moreover, eight kiosks have been set up to facilitate sanitisation. Specific arrangements have also been made for the differently-abled and elderly persons, an official in the SJTA informed.
Police personnel and officials pressed into service in and around the Jagannath temple premises have been instructed to be courteous to devotees, but also be firm and disciplined if required.
