Puri: A woman was allegedly set on fire by her husband after he poured petrol on her following a domestic dispute in Puri’s Kumbharpada police station area.
The injured woman has been identified as Sarojini Mallik, was initially rushed for treatment and later shifted to AIIMS in critical condition. Police have detained her husband, Bikram Kumar Mallik, in connection with the incident.
According to reports, the accused was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. Police have registered a case (No. 453/2026) and launched an investigation.
Police said the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be established and all aspects of the incident are being investigated.
