FM Rakesh Kumar Jena, Vaibhav Mishra and FM Soumya Ranjan Mishra also garnered 7.5 points each, but they have to be satisfied with the second, third and the fourth place positions respectively on the basis of tie-breaker points.
Based on the performance in this tournament, all the four players have been selected by the Chess Association of Orissa (CAO) to represent the state in the Challenger Cup Chess in Uttar Pradesh August 2-12. In the closing ceremony CAO secretary Vivek Kumar Tibarwal joined as the chief guest and distributed the prizes.
