Malkangiri: Additional District Judge Prajnya Nalini Mishra handed down a 10-year rigorous imprisonment to a man for raping a minor girl. Over and above this, she also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000. In case of non-payment of the penalty amount, he will undergo another six months of imprisonment. Dinabandhu Majumdar (22) of MV-72 village under MV-79 police station had raped the girl (8) in 2016. He took the girl to the backside of a house and raped her there. In this connection, the MV-79 police investigated and filed a case (2/2016).
