Kolimati: Amid allegations of large-scale irregularities in ration card distribution, scores of poor tribals in Kolimati panchayat under Anandapur block in Keonjhar district have been left out of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) coverage.
The tribal people alleged that though they had applied for ration cards at the block and panchayats, no step has been taken as yet to provide them the essential cards.
Now, they drew the attention of Anandapur block development officer and the sub-collector towards their plight. The two officials have assured them of redressing their problems, but the assurances have not been realized, the tribals alleged.
Some people of Kaduabahali village such as Naria Naik, Babaji Naik, Golap Naik, Kanak Naik, Surati Naik, Sula Naik, Sombari naiak, Ramani Naik, Sukanti Nauiak, Suikadev Naik and Raj Naik urged the government to immediately provide them
ration cards.
