Bhubaneswar, July 13: The delay by Rama Devi University in publication of its merit list for undergraduate and postgraduate courses has put students in disarray.
University authorities had notified that the first merit list for admission to various undergraduate courses will be published on the institute’s website Monday.
However, the officials decided at the last minute not to publish the list as the process is yet to be completed.
“Orissa Knowledge Corporation Limited is the authority conducting the admission process for both UG and PG courses of the institute. We did not get enough time to complete all the procedures. We can’t take any risk by putting up incorrect data. It will take a little time to validate the application forms. The first list will be out within a day or two,” said Chitrangada Samantsinghar, the principal RD Junior College.
The move angered applicants as the varsity authorities have not notified the delay of the publication of first merit list of UG.
The authorities have got five days to validate the forms as the application process, which began June 22, ended July 6.
However, the list is yet to be out on the varsity’s website.
University officials have also delayed publication of the first merit list for postgraduate courses offered by the varsity.
The PG first merit list was to be published July 13 (Monday), but officials have said the list will be out July 16 and admissions will begin July 21.
The second merit list of PG will be published July 23 instead of July 21 earlier and the admission of the enlisted candidates will begin July 30 instead of July 29. Classes will begin August 6.
