RDC blames bank in Keonjhar skeleton case

Keonjhar: The Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) has held bank officials responsible for negligence in the shocking Keonjhar skeleton incident, in which Jitu Munda carried his sister Kalara Munda’s remains to the bank to secure the release of her savings.

On Thursday, Northern RDC Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, along with District Collector Vishal Singh, visited the area and held discussions with Jitu Munda. They conducted a detailed inquiry at the Malliposhi branch of Odisha Gramya Bank in Keonjhar district.

Following investigations at the Patna Community Health Centre and Patna police station, he said in his preliminary findings that bank authorities, staff of the health centre, and police personnel were responsible. He added that a report would be submitted to the government.

Keonjhar Collector Vishal Singh, Sub-Collector Umashankar Dalei, Additional District Magistrate Rabindra Pradhan, and Patna Tehsildar Ashwini Kumar Naik were present during the visit. Former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and leader Jayadev Jena also held discussions with the RDC, seeking exemplary action in the matter.
