RDC inspects healthcare at cancer centre

Cuttack: Revenue Divisional Commissioner (central) Anil Kumar Samal Thursday inspected healthcare facilities at Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) here.

During his visit to the cancer hospital, Samal talked to some patients and enquired about the healthcare facilities. The RDC asked AHRCC director Lalatendu Sarangi to make arrangement for the supply of free drugs to patients under the Niramaya scheme of the state government.

The RDC, however, expressed satisfaction over proper facilities at the outpatient department and ticket counter of the AHRCC, sources said.

According to sources, Samal directed Cuttack collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani to remove encroachments from the cancer hospital premises. The RDC also took stock of drainage and sanitation facilities at AHRCC and asked the hospital director and superintendent to keep their premises clean.

The RDC put emphasis on better healthcare to patients under the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative of the state government.

“We are providing all facilities to the patients. However, we need additional buildings to accommodate patients. We urged the RDC to expedite the construction of a new building at the hospital,” Sarangi said.

Samal also visited an urban community health centre at CDA. He advised Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) commissioner Ananya Das to provide required equipment to the health centre.
