RDC reviews Nagada development

Kaliapani: Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central) Akhil Kumar Ota again visited Nagada village in Sukinda area of Jajpur Friday to take stock of the ongoing development schemes for tribals in the tribal village. 

The RDC arrived at the temporary camp at Deogan on the foothill of Nagada at noon. He inspected the food grain stocked for Jaunga tribals and walked up to Ashokhari to see the progress of the road project.

He had directed PD of DRDA Brajagopal Acharya to expedite the road project and compete it as soon as possible.
In the afternoon, he chaired a review meeting with officials of various departments at Tata Officers’ Club.

The RDC expressed happiness over the progress of the work, especially setting up of a mini anganwadi centre, appointment of anganwadi worker and Asha worker, drinking water project, lightning, Mamata Yojna, food security programme among others.

At the meeting, he instructed the CDPO and CDMO to ensure proper health check-ups of tribal kids and their nutrition. His remark came a day after Union tribal affairs secretary G Ramesh Kumar pointed out negligence in providing nutrition and healthcare of the tribals.
After the RDC visit which followed visits by two central teams, the tribal village has kept the officials on their toes.

Meanwhile, three more malnourished tribal kids from nearby Ashokjhari village were brought to nutrition rehabilitation centre at Tata Steel Hospital.
Dr Shila Dey of the Central team had detected malnutrition among children in Ashokjhari. A medical team led by the CDPO had checked the health of the children in Ashokjhari August 3.

Runi Pradhan (6 month), Sima Pradhan (14 months) and Muni Bihari Pradhan (two years) were admitted to the nutrition rehabilitation centre. PNn
