Bhubaneswar: Odisha health department Friday said that 4,061persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and are being discharged. This is the highest 24-hour recovery ever recorded in the state.
Out of the 4,061 persons, 744 are from Khordha, 425 from Cuttack, 267 from Sundargarh, 244 from Bargarh, 240 from Mayurbhanj, 187 from Balasore, 185 from Jajpur, 179 from Kendrapara, 167 from Angul, 157 from Ganjam, 132 from Puri, 130 from Bhadrak, 130 from Jagatsinghpur, 130 from Jharsuguda, 78 from Keonjhar, 77 from Sambalpur, 74 from Koraput, 74 from Nuapada, 59 from Nabarangpur, 50 from Dhenkanal, 48 from Nayagarh, 45 from Rayagada, 37 from Kalahandi, 33 from Bolangir, 33 from Sonepur, 32 from Kandhamal, 31 from Boudh, 26 from Deogarh, 24 from Malkangiri and 23 from Gajapati.
With this, total recoveries in the state now stand at 1,12,062.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s COVID-19 caseload touched 1,43,117 with the detection of 3,996 new cases, while 14 more fatalities pushed its coronavirus death toll to 605.
As many as 2,359 new cases were reported from quarantine centres, while 1,637 people tested positive for the infection during contact tracing.
The state Thursday tested 50,044 samples for COVID-19, taking the total number of tests conducted so far to 23.23 lakh.
