Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: A mega blood donation camp was organised here Thursday to mark the National Voters’ Day to be celebrated January 25.
As many as 56 donors participated in the camp organised by the Indian Red Cross Society — Orissa State Branch (IRCS-OSB) in association with the state’s chief electoral officer. Of these, 22 donated their blood after examination.
Donating blood not only gives a feeling of joy for saving a life but also keeps the donor healthy, said Khurda collector Niranjan Sahu while inaugurating the programme.
IRCS-OSB secretary Chakradhar Panda said that motivating youth for a noble cause such as blood donation will automatically instill a sense of humanity among them.
The blood donation camp was attended by additional electoral officer Gahadu Mirdha and IRCS-OSB joint secretary Govinda Chandra Mahunta.
