Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly branded his wife’s private part with a hot iron rod after she refused to have a physical relationship with her husband’s friend at Chandaka here.
According to reports, the woman got married one-and-a-half years ago. After some days, she realised that her husband was a transsexual. She also had to face torture from her husband regularly.
Recently, he consumed liquor with one of his friends at home. Later he told his wife to have sex with his friend. When she refused, both her husband and friend beat her up, branded her private part with a hot iron rod and locked up her in a room for hours.
Later she had been raped by her husband’s friend for many days allegedly with the knowledge of her in-laws.
Though she approached Chandaka police, they allegedly tried to suppress the matter, reports said. Later the police detained the duo but they were released soon.
She alleged that Iman Kalyani Nayak, IIC of Chandaka Police Station, verbally abused her.
The woman also threatened to commit suicide if she didn’t get justice.
