Popular choreographer Ganesh Acharya who once weighed close to 200 kg recently revealed on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ that he has lost a whopping 98 kg.
Ganesh went down the footsteps of celebrities like Adnan Sami and Ram Kapoor to prove that hard work and determination can achieve anything. The ace choreographer trained rigorously under his trainer Ajay Naidu to shed the extra weight.
Ganesh reportedly felt the repercussions of excessive body weight while working on a song from the movie ‘Housefull 3’. It was then that Ganesh realised that ‘this is too much’.
“It took me 15 days to learn how to float. Slowly, my trainer Ajay Naidu made me do crunches in water. Now, I can execute 11 exercises (like scissors and lateral raises etc.) in succession over a 75-minute routine. It’s exhausting,” Ganesh was quoted as saying by TOI.
In a span of one and half years, Ganesh lost 85 kg in the year 2017.
The National Award winner for Best Choreography often shares pictures and videos of his intensive workout sessions on social media..
“I danced even when I had so much weight, but the difference between then and now is that the energy in my dance has doubled. Not only this, even size label of my clothes has moved from 7 XL to L,” Ganesh added.
