Puri: A consultancy firm engaged to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the implementation of Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) in the city has chalked out a uniform remodelling plan for all residential buildings and mutts located close to the Jagannath temple.
The consultancy firm is expected to submit the plan during a high-level meeting for the implementation of HRIDAY April 21, sources said. The district administration will urge the owners of residential buildings and authorities of mutts to remodel the structures with their own resources, according to sources.
“The building remodelling plan has been proposed to beautify the surroundings of Srimandir. However, it will be implemented after receiving the required approval from the city-level advisory and monitoring committee of HRIDAY,” said an official of the district administration.
The consultancy firm has also proposed beautification of the Banki estuary area of the city at an expenditure of `3.67 crore. The firm has identified 3.7 acre land at the site for the project, sources said.
In a related development, the works department has decided to widen roads around Srimandir and construct a pathway for pedestrians near the shrine. “The state government has sanctioned `2 crore for the construction of the pathway,” the officiial said.
