Retd banker’s house burgled in Capital

Bhubaneswar:  Miscreants broke into a retired bank officer’s residence and decamped with belongings worth  lakhs, late Saturday night, at Sidhheswar Nagar, in Jagamara, under Khandagiri police station. The banker’s son, Gaurav Kuamr Barala, Sunday filed a complaint regarding the theft with the Khandagiri police.

The complaint states that Barala, who is a businessman, has been staying at plot no.949/5407 in Sidhheswar Nagar. The thieves entered into the premises of his residence by climbing the boundary. Later, they climbed on to the second floor, where they broke the window of his parent’s bedroom. His mother was sleeping inside the room.

The miscreants allegedly sprayed some intoxicants on her and ran away with a gold necklace, one pearl necklace, four gold earrings, three gold rings, and some bangles. They also took five thousand worth cash from the locker of the Almirah, in the bedroom. Based on the complaint, the police have started their investigation.
