Bhubaneswar: Bhisma Pradhan, revenue inspector (RI) of Goudpalli Revenue Circle under Jamankira tehsil in Sambalpur district, was apprehended by the Vigilance officials Thursday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
The bribe was solicited from a landless complainant in exchange for furnishing a favourable report in a lease case.
Since November 2024, the complainant had been repeatedly requesting Pradhan for assistance in the matter.

However, Pradhan demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 to process and furnish the favourable report.
Left with no options, the complainant approached the Vigilance authorities, who laid a trap and nabbed him.
