New Delhi: Filmmaker Rishab Shetty praised Yash and his latest film Toxic and said the actor surrendered himself to a character and a world which demanded a larger-than-life performance.
The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and was reportedly mounted on a budget of over Rs 500 crore. It released with dubs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and several other languages.
Shetty shared a note on his X handle Sunday as he lauded the actor’s performance in the film.
“As an artist, when you play a character, you try to bring it to life from the bottom of your heart. And here, I am truly impressed by the conviction with which the struggle of a powerful man has been portrayed…The effort that goes into telling a story, and the journey it takes from being a thought in the mind to becoming a film on screen, is humongous,” he wrote.

I could clearly feel that in every scene…It’s not easy to give the audience an experience of how guilt multiplies and increases the toxicity in life. The film features Yash in the dual roles of Raya and Ticket and presents the actor in a new avatar. It features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi.
