Cuttack, May 3: Rising Students beat Rameswar Sporting by five wickets to enter the semifinals of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Medical Ground here Sunday.
Opting to bat first, Rameswar were bundled out for 113 in 39.2 overs with Biswajit Mallick (33, 47b, 1×4. 1×6) emerging as the highest scorer. Sasank Renguta (4/24) bowled a penetrative line to scalp four wickets. He was supported well by Somen Chand (2/22).
In reply, Rising Students made a cakewalk of the run chase as they overhauled the total in 33.2 overs for the loss of five wickets, courtesy a fine innings by Yogesh Gond (52, 56b, 9×4). Simrit Samantray (3/15) bowled well for Rameswar. Yogesh was adjudged the man of the match for his responsible knock.
