Bhawanipatna: A woman labourer was crushed to death under a heap of bricks while four others sustained critical injuries after a brick-laden tractor they were travelling by overturned at Dadpur under Sadar police limits here Friday evening.
The deceased woman labourer was identified as Bilash Kumar (35) of Kusumkhunti village. Four other labourers were rendered critical in the mishap and admitted to a hospital for treatment. They were travelling in a brick-laden tractor without any registration number when the driver lost control over the wheels and the vehicle overturned.
The driver Sanjeev Sa of Themra village fled the scene after the mishap. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and started a probe after registering a case. Doctors attending on the injured said as the condition of their was critical the victims have been kept under observation.
