Keonjhar: Stepping up vigil on illegal cash flow during general elections, Champua police have seized unaccounted Rs 1.95 lakh from the car of Champua Congress MLA candidate Jadumani Barik during a patrolling near Shankarpur village in Keonjhar district Saturday.
Police also seized the vehicle and were questioning Barik at Champua Police Station. ASI Sarup Nayak has deposited the cash at the SDPO. However, Barik explained that he was on his way to file his nomination. Police said that an investigation is on and truth will come out.
