Rs 380cr divorce alimony of Hrithik; A look into some of the most expensive celebrity break-ups

Celebrity divorces—especially ones that come out of nowhere—have a way of dominating headlines for days, maybe even weeks and months. Here, a look back at some of the most high-profile divorces in recent history.

This fact is proved through the following divorces, which are said to be the most expensive B-town divorces to date.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan

Reportedly, Hrithik had to pay Rs. 380 crores as alimony to Sussanne Khan post their divorce in 2012.

 

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapoor split in 2016 after 11 years of marriage. As divorce settlement, Sunjay had to purchase bonds worth Rs.14 crores for upbringing and care of their two children. This will attract interest worth Rs.10 lakhs per month.

 

Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani

Farhan and Adhuna got divorced in 2017. Their marriage lasted 16 years before they decided to part ways. After the divorce, Adhuna expressed her desire to keep their Mumbai residence (a sprawling 10,000 square feet bungalow in Bandstand) for herself. Alongside this, Farhan is also contributing a major amount in the security and upbringing of their daughters.

 

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh

The Nawab of Pataudi reportedly made a statement saying, “I’m supposed to give Amrita Rs. 5 crores, out of which I’ve already given her 2.5 crores. I’m also paying her Rs. 1 lakh per month to take care of my son till he turns 18.”

 

Sanjay Dutt and Rhea Pillai

Rhea got a sea facing luxury apartment along with an expensive car as alimony from Sanjay Dutt after their divorce. It is said that he even took care of her bills for a long time.

 

Aditya Chopra and Payal Khanna

Rani and Aditya had to pay a huge price for tying the knot. Aditya’s first wife Payal Khanna was given a hefty sum of 50 crores as alimony.

 

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta

 

Aamir had to reportedly pay alimony of Rs. 50 crores to his first wife Reena at the time of their divorce.

 

Prabhu Deva and Ramlath

Prabhu Deva had to pay a one-time alimony amount of Rs. 1 lakh along with two expensive cars and property of approximately Rs. 25 crores.

 

Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora

 

Though it was never confirmed by any source or by Arbaaz and Malaika themselves, it is said that Malaika demanded an alimony of Rs. 10-15 crores from Arbaaz post their divorce. Whether this was granted by the court or provided by Arbaaz is unconfirmed.
