Cuttack: Rising Student Club (RSC) scored twice in the first half as they defeated Jay Durga Club 3-1 in a match of the FAO 1st Division football league here at the Barabati Stadium, Sunday.
Raju Bisar put RSC ahead with a brilliant strike in the 15th minute before Kuar Marandi doubled the lead 16 minutes later. However, Sidhant Das reduced the margin for Jay Durga in the 42nd minute.
Arbind Lakra scored the third for RSC five minutes into the second half to eventually seal the game.
In the other match of the day, at the same venue, Mangala Club got a walkover as their opponents Kishore Club didn’t turn up.
Top teams win
Manipur, Punjab, Assam and Delhi registered emphatic wins against their respective opponents in the ongoing Senior Women’s National Football Championships here, Sunday.
Punjab thrashed Kerala 6-1, while Manipur also pumped in six goals against Pondicherry’s two. Assam outclassed Bihar 4-0 and Delhi thumped Jharkhand 6-0.
