RSP registers best ever Q1 performance

Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of the Maharatna Company SAIL, has registered outstanding performance in the first Quarter of the current financial year in all major areas of production.

RSP sources said the Steel Plant produced 944552 tonnes of Hot Metal, 901771 tonnes of Crude Steel and 810405 tonnes of Saleable Steel registering the best ever performance for any April-June period.

The Best ever Q1 performance was achieved by units like Coke Ovens Battery-6 (average 89.4 pushings per day), Steel Melting Shop-II (807597 tonnes of Crude Steel), New Plate Mill (230126 Tonnes of plate rolling) and Hot Strip Mill (285940 tonnes of HR coil for sale).

The total Saleable Steel despatch was to the tune of 789520 tonnes which is an all-time high Q1 performance.

Similarly, the average power generation from the Captive Power Plant ?I was to the tune of 34.4 MegaWatt which is not only the best Apr-June performance but also a growth of 31.3 per cent over the Corresponding period last year, the RSP sources said.

In the month of June many of the Units like the Coke Ovens Batteries, Blast Furnaces, Sintering Plants, Steel Melting Shops, Plate Mills, Spiral Welded Pipe Plant and Captive Power Plant achieved the APP targets contributing in making the Q1 performance so impressive.
