Balasore: Hundreds of depositors stormed into the office of Sahara India at Chidiapola on Vivekananda Marg in Balasore Thursday after they failed to get back their money after maturity of the deposit schemes. The depositors created ruckus at the office, demanding return of their money. IIC Sarojini Nayak rushed to the spot and assured the depositors that steps would be taken for refund within a month. Jagannath Khandelwal of Bateswar has a deposit of Rs 4 lakh in the office; Pratap Behera of Bhaskarganj Rs 70,000; Amuly Patra of Ichhpur Rs 1.20 lakh; Srustidhar Pradhan of Soro Rs 48,000; and Nimain Manna of Chandipur Rs 40,000 as fixed deposits. The term of the deposits has matured along ago, but the investors have been frequenting the head office of the company for months. The authorities of the Sahara office kept on delaying to return their deposits. The depositors forced the branch head Bhawani Shankar Pradhan to pay back the money.
