Saheed Sporting emerge champions

Cuttack, May 10: Saheed Sporting, Bhubaneswar scripted an emphatic eight wickets over Rising Students, Cuttack to clinch the title of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Ground here Sunday.

After winning the toss, Saheed Sporting elected to field first and restricted Rising Students to 119 in 33.2 Over’s with only Yogesh Gond(28, 23b, 4×4, 1×6) offering some resistance with the bat. Sandeep Chauhan(3/30) and Arya Jena (3/32 bowled well to share six wickets among themselves.

In reply, Saheed Sporting cruised home in 29.3 overs for the loss of two wickets. Man of the match Jyoti Ranjan Behera (54 n o, 81b, 5×4) and Sraban Bunga (49, 50b, 6×4 batted well.

Joining as chief guest, Orissa Cricket Association(OCA) Secretary Asirbad Behera distributed the prizes.The champions team bagged a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and a trophy, while the losing team took home Rs 10,000 and the runners-up trophy.
