Rourkela, March 4: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) emerged champions in the Public Sector Hockey tournament defeating ONGC 5-1 in the final here Friday.
Ashok Lakra (fourth, 31st) and Silanand Bilung (23th, 24th) scored a brace each while Janma Majhi struck in the 34th minute for the winning team. Dibakar Ram (30th) scored the consolation goal for ONGC.
Air India finished third after thrashing BSNL 5-1 in the third and fourth play-off match.
SER in semis
South Eastern Railway (SER) entered the semifinals of the 12th All India Biju Patnaik football tournament after spanking ACB India Limited, Korba 4-0 in the last quarterfinal match here Friday.
Aaqib opened the scoring for Railway side in the seventh minute, followed by Paresh in the 21st. In the second session Aiyaaz (61st) and Aaqib (87th) completed the rout.
