Kendrapara, May 6: If there is a will, there is a way. The daughter of a poor salesman of this district has proved this statement right by securing 97.3 percent marks in HSC examinations results announced Wednesday.
Fourteen-year-old Subhashree Dash, daughter of Halayudha Dash and Laxmipriya Dash of Nasidipur village under Kendrapara town, secured 584 out of 600 marks in the examination. As the news of the girl’s achievement spread, both her family members and the residents of the
village were overjoyed.
“The road to success in Class X was not so easy for Subhashree as poverty stood as a barrier for her. But with her determination and hardwork she has proved that poor students can become successful and become inspirations for hundreds of poor students,” Laxmipriya said.
Talking about her formula of success, Subhashree said: “There is no shortcut to success. If you have strong will power then for sure you will succeed despite the odds.” She dedicated her success to her family members, the presiding deity of the village ‘Maa Abhaya’, and teachers of Baladevjew High School. Her parents had faced a lot of problem to arrange money for her education, but Subhashree said her mother has inspired and motivated her from the childhood.
“Though financial crunch was a hurdle for my studies, but with the support of my parents I managed to study more than 8 to 10 hours per day,” she said.
Dreaming to become an IAS officer in future Subhashree’s formula for success is simple. “Hard work, preparation through original text books and proper guidance would be a key to the success for any student,” she said.
As many as 21,493 students of the district appeared in the HSC examinations. Out of them 18,052 students passed. While 41 students secured A1grade, 491 got A2 grade, 1648 secured B1 grade whereas 3,480 obtained B2 grade. Similarly, 4432 students obtained C grade, 4894 students got D grade and 2,766 students got E grade.
