SCB medico alleges sexual harassment

Cuttack: A post-graduate girl student of SCB Medical College and Hospital here Monday levelled allegations of sexual harassments against three senior doctors.
In her complaint to the Mangalabag police, the PG second year student of dental department accused a professor, an assistant professor and a senior resident of sexually harassing her. The police registered a case under Section 354, 354 (A), 294, 323, 506 and 34 of IPC and began a probe.
The victim, who hails from Uttarakhand, alleged that the accused trio had been harassing her for sexual favour since February this year. They misbehaved with her on several occasions, she alleged.
“When I tried to maintain distance from them after learning about their ill-intension, they threatened to ruin my career. They also threatened to kill me if I did not cooperate,” the girl stated in her complaint.
The girl further said that she approached the department head Saturday and complaint against the accused. However, instead of taking action the department head abused her with filthy language and pushed her out of his chamber.
When contacted, dental department head professor Indu Bhusan Kar said if any senior warns a junior for negligence in duty would that be termed as harassment?
